Maryland beats Rutgers 34-24!!!

It looks like the Terps may have found a new QB! Chris Turner looked like a seasoned vet in his first significant action under center. Chris had plenty of support from his line, his receivers, and especially his mates in the backfield. Keon and Lance had big days on the ground as Cory and the big boys up front led the way.

Now let's beat Georgia Tech!

Recap
Unfortunately, the Terps fell 31-14 on Thursday after a hard fought game against the #4 ranked WVU Mountaineers. The Maryland defense competed admirably against the speed and elusiveness of the WVU running attack. Unfortunately, Slaton and Devine took advantage of a few breakdowns and put up over 300 yards on the ground. The WVU QB, Pat White, was extremely successful through the air on 3rd down conversions and ran for a score just seconds into the game.

The Maryland offense struggled throughout the evening, although they bounced back with an impressive drive to tie the game after an early WVU touchdown. QB Jordan Steffy, the leader of the Maryland offense, gained valuable experience in this contest and we hope to see his numbers improve as the season progresses.

The 2-1 Terrapins open their ACC schedule on September 22 at 3:30PM with a visit to Winton-Salem, NC as they take on the defending ACC champions - Wake Forest.

Villanova 2007

The Maryland football season started off with a bang as the Terps took care of the over matched Villanova Wildcats in front of 50K people at Byrd Stadium. The final score of the season opener was 31-7 thanks to the excellent play of QB Jordan Steffy, strong running by Keon Lattimore, and an up and coming defense.

The tailgating was excellent - thanks to great friends, excellent food, wonderful weather, and cold beer. Ralph Friedgen and the boys were welcomed at Terp Alley, which was lined with a sea of die hard fans adorned in red, the marching band, and the spirit squad.
